Criminal Background Checks
In its work with employers, the Employment Law Group has developed a comprehensive system to perform criminal background checks on employees and potential employees and advise its clients about the results of those checks. Its work in this area is unique, because in addition to its ability to assemble comprehensive and accurate criminal background checks, it also has the legal background to advise employers about its potential litigation risk related to Wisconsin’s prohibition against discrimination because of arrest and/or conviction records. Also, because it represents employees in arrest/conviction record discrimination litigation, it has further insight into an employer’s defenses and potential pitfalls.
